A guide to help you unsubscribe from Consonet

Over these past few years, I have subscribed and created new accounts on countless websites and my inbox is the living proof of that. It’s too much, I don’t even remember half these services. All I have is an inbox full of e-mails I don’t need. To make matters worse, I also discovered that I haven’t canceled all of the services I used to use. Thankfully, it’s only a few, but I got quite the scare when I discovered it. I have spent all this week unsubscribing from services and deleting accounts, and I have to say, not every site lets you delete your account and some even make it an absolute chore to unsubscribe from their services. Some of them were fast and very easy, like this site called Consonet. That is what I like to see, they think of the user experience, even when they are leaving. More services should adopt this line of thinking.

So, how do you unsubscribe from Consonet?

  1. Go to Consonet’s homepage, log into your customer profile using your credentials (e-mail/password). The e-mail is the one you used during the purchase and the password is the one they assigned to you. Check your inbox for the password, if it isn’t there, always check the spam folder. Now that you’re logged in, go to “Your Access” and click the “Cancel” button. They will send you a confirmation e-mail with all the details. It literally took me 5 minutes to do this.
  1. If you forgot your log in details, there is a solution for that. Just below the login form, you can see another form telling you to enter the first 6 and last 4 digits of the credit card used for the purchase. Complete it. The rest of the process is pretty similar to the first one. “Your Access” – “Cancel” – Done. Just as fast as the first method.

  1. Your last option would be the customer support. It’s very likely you won’t need to contact customer support, but just in case you need it. Call them during work hours or send an e-mail or even a message. They will ask you questions, and the only thing you have to do is answer them. After that, go to your e-mail to check if the cancelation confirmation has arrived.

Hopefully, I explained it in a way that you can understand. Next time something like this happens, be sure to check the service provider’s homepage for instructions on how to cancel a subscription.
